How Many? # 1 -- WINNER: CLEOPATRA!

Update: Cleopatra is the winner! There were 617 buttons in the pile!

I just can't help myself .. I thought of this new contest today and was going to wait til Monday to post it but ... here it is, a few days early:

Take a guess at how many buttons are in the pile! Note: I added a green arrow in the lower right corner - that gray button is about the size of a quarter.

For a closer look, click on the picture to see a bit larger version.

Here are the rules:

1) You may only post five times with one guess in each posting so make them count!

2) First guess closest to the actual number without going over wins (and yes, I counted every single button! Whew!) .

3) Contest ends on February 20th at 7pm Pacific Standard Time. Entries after this time will not be posted/eligible.

What you'll win:
- a bar of oatmeal, milk and honey vegan soap
- a lavender scented sachet
- a sample of rooibos loose leaf tea!

Good luck, have fun and tell your friends!

Hugs,
Layla

** ** ** THE WINNER OF MY OWOH GIVEAWAY IS "LADYBUG" FROM www.thelightifind.blogspot.com! ** ** **

***********************************************************************

I just learned about the most amazing blog called "One World, One Heart". A woman named Lisa Swifka is the author of this blog, as well as the host of this worldwide blogging event that is taking place January 19-February 12. Rather than me trying to explain it all to you, I'll share an excerpt from Lisa, the creator of One World-One Heart:

"The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way...This is more than wanting to win something.......that is only the means.......in the end it's about finding kindred spirits."

I am participating in this event (OWOH) and this drawing is open to ANYONE and EVERYONE!!!

HOW TO ENTER TO WIN:
All you need to do is leave me a comment ON THIS POST some time before February 12th and be sure to include your name and email so I have a way to get a hold of you if you are the winner! It's that easy! On February 12th, I'll pick a winner and post their name right here on my blog!

THE PRIZE:
The winner will receive *all* of the following items:

One bar of Vegan Key Lime Soap

One Fragrant Rose Garden Scented Sachet

A sample of our delicious Black Currant tea

Good luck and have fun!

How To Make Simmering Potpourri

Materials: cloves, cinnamon sticks, orange peel ribbons and star anise.

1. To make the potpourri you need to mix equal amounts of cloves, cinnamon sticks and star anise. Variations include adding bay leaves, orange peel ribbons, dried orange and lemon peel.

2. Fill a glass jar container with the potpourri with a cork top so it stays fresh. Or place into muslin bags as gifts. Use raffia to decorate the bottle and the muslin bags.

Simmering instructions:

-Place in a shallow pan and cover with water.
-Simmer on low and refill water as necessary.

Make a few of these and keep them on hand this holiday season - they make lovely "emergency" gifts!
