The First Gift ...

I recently won the Etsy for Charity March giveaway with my Lime bath bomb entry. I won several really fantastic prizes and the first arrived today.

Mae Bee's pretty little silver bracelet came so sweetly packaged that I had to get a shot of everything so you could experience it too. Every detail is perfect and ready for gift-giving! Please take a moment to check out the rest of her items on Etsy - you won't be disappointed. And considering that she's part of Etsy for Charity, you'll know that you're supporting a very good cause with your purchases.

I don't know which is nicer .. the packaging or the bracelet! I'll let you be the judge!

Hugs,
Layla

The Skin I'm In

The Challenge

I'm always amazed by the textures of various living/organic things. Can you guess what all of these are?

The Rules

The challenge ends at 7pm PST on April 3rd. The first person to post the correct answer for every photo in order, in one posting will win. If multiple individuals get the right answer, the individual who posts first will win. You may post multiple times until you feel you have the correct sequence. Please be sure to either leave a way for me to get in touch with you if you win OR come back on April 3rd to see if you've won!

The Prize

The winner of this week's challenge will receive their choice of any two bath bombs or 1/4 pound of tea from my shop!

Have fun and remember to share this with your friends!

A Surprise in My Mailbox!

What a lovely surprise I received when I checked my mail! Recently, I sold some lavender to "BJKnits" on Etsy and look at the lovely lavender-filled eye pillow she sent me in return!

Please take a minute to swing by BJKnits' shop - she makes some really neat things, her prices are ridiculously low and she's so sweet!

Peacock Feathers

One of the most popular products in my shop are peacock feathers. I have always admired peacocks for their stunning color and regal appearance. Just how can a bird bear such vibrant color and striking marks?

I decided to see what lovely "peacock" items are being made on Etsy and here's what I found:

Fantastic Peacock Feather Comb by wildspirits

Gold silk peacock feathers - luxury clutch bag by redrubyrose

Eggplant Peacock Feather Hand Silk Screened Metallic Overlay by Gypsies Tramps and Thieves

Peacock table by Peggitha's Pieces

Padded Gadget Case ideal for Ipod, Cell Phone, Blackberry, Digital Camera - Peacock Feathers by Dory Designs

Green Peacock Enclosure Cards by Michelle Brusegaard

Resolutions

One of my resolutions for the new year is to kick my creativity up a notch. I'm going to take a shot at being more crafty... starting today.

This afternoon, I made these wonderful lemon-lime bath bombs:

And also these orange-strawberry parfait ones:

Needless to say, they both smell great and I'm off to take a bath and try one. You can pick up a four pack of my bath bombs in my Etsy shop for $10 - mix or match!

See you tomorrow!
